Phlebotomy

Are you looking to train for a rewarding career as part of the medical field?  The Phlebotomy program at UHCC is designed to help you gain knowledge, skills and experience to pursue career opportunities in this growing healthcare field.

Phlebotomy is a career field that continues to grow and demand for Phlebotomists will remain high as doctors and other health care professionals require bloodwork for analysis and diagnosis.  Phlebotomists draw blood for tests, transfusions, research, or blood donations.

Phlebotomists work mainly in hospitals, medical and diagnostic laboratories, blood donor centers and doctor’s offices.

The weekend Phlebotomy program at Universal Healthcare Careers College is an 80 hour program:

• 20 hours basic instruction
• 20 hours advanced instruction
• 40 hours externship

Credit for previous experience

If you have prior phlebotomy experience you may be able to use this experience to bypass the 20 hours basic instruction as well as the 40 hours externship.

Weekend classes are also available.
