At Universal Healthcare Careers College, we believe education should lead to a valuable healthcare career. Courses are taught both in the classroom and laboratory and students receive hands-on training from experienced healthcare instructors in a small class size environment. For some of the programs, we also offer hybrid online learning and ground laboratory experience.
Universal Healthcare Careers College’s vocational nursing program is approved by the Board of Vocational Nursing and Psychiatric Technicians (BVNPT). The program encompasses all the fundamental skills necessary for a vocational nurse to become licensed upon successful completion of the NCLEX-PN examination and practice as an entry-level nurse. California requires licesure for vocational nursing, and the professional is referred to as a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN).
An LVN is a support staff health care professional trained to take care of acute as well as chronically dependent patients. The LVN works closely with registered nurses, nurse practitioners and other health care professionals to provide holistic care for the patient.

Training requirements per California laws and regulations is to complete a vocational nursing program approved by the BVNPT. Our program was designed in close collaboration with the Nursing Education Consultant assigned to us by BVNPT.
